These terms apply when you use the Iris Market website or place an order. By ordering, you agree to them. South African law applies, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA). Those laws apply even if something here says otherwise.
1. Who we are
Iris Market is an online store selling consumer goods to customers in South Africa. Contact us at hello@irismarket.co.za or +27 11 000 1900.
2. Using the website
You must be 18 or older, or shop with a parent or guardian’s permission. Keep your account details safe. Do not misuse the site, scrape it, or try to interfere with payments or other customers.
3. Products and prices
Prices are in South African Rand (ZAR). If VAT applies, it is shown at checkout. We may correct obvious pricing or stock errors. Product photos and descriptions are a guide; small differences can happen. An order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we confirm the order and take payment.
4. Payment
We accept payment through our payment service providers (including card and Instant EFT). We do not store full card numbers on Iris Market. Payment must clear before we dispatch. If a payment fails, is reversed, or looks fraudulent, we may cancel the order.
5. Delivery
We deliver across South Africa. Standard delivery is 2–5 working days after dispatch. Orders placed before 14:00 on a business day are packed the same day where stock allows. Delivery is free on qualifying orders over R500. Full detail is in our Delivery Policy.
6. Returns and refunds
You may return unused items in original packaging within 30 days of delivery. Faulty or incorrect goods are handled under the CPA. See our Returns & Refunds Policy.
7. Ownership and risk
Goods remain ours until paid for in full. Risk of loss or damage passes to you when the courier delivers to the address you gave us.
8. Acceptable use
You may only buy for personal or ordinary household/business use. Bulk, resale, or abusive ordering may be refused.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits rights you cannot give up under South African law, including CPA rights for unsafe or defective goods. Apart from that, Iris Market is not liable for indirect loss (such as lost profits) arising from using the site or from delayed delivery caused by the courier or events outside our reasonable control.
10. Privacy
We handle personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. The version on this page when you order is the one that applies to that order.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. You may also use CPA and ECTA complaint routes, including the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud where they apply.
